The next scene depicted in the 2012 olympics was the hospital scene in which hundreds of doctors and nurses wheel sick children in on their hospital beds. – quite disturbing to say the least. Oddly enough, as the scene began, the theme from the Exorcist began to play. It was intended to be a a tribute to the National Health System and the Great Ormond Street Hospital. A giant baby head appears among the doctors, nurses, and children and they all seem to be admiring it in awe. The strangest part is that the baby doesn’t have a body, it is simply a giant head. During this scene, J. K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter, appears and reads a quote from Peter Pan referring to Neverland as Neverland appears “two minutes before you go to sleep.”
Suddenly fiery rings appear overhead the hospital scene and some sort of sorcerer/grim reaper appears hovering over them. Goals and villains appear and chase after the children, trying to frighten them. During this time, the nurses and doctors stand completely immobile as if they cannot control what is happening. It is not known what exactly the sorcerer figure is. It seems as if it is casting some sort of spell on the children, or representing their deaths.
Dozens of Mary Poppins appear during this time and save the children by shooing away all of the demons and ghouls. No one can say for sure what this scene meant, but the complexity of it is what is most striking to me. There are so many satanic references and awful images depicted in these scenes that many people feel that this entire ceremony was dedicated to depict a mind-control situation.
The next scene is said to be a tribute to the 7/7 London bombings victims. This scene begins with a group of dancers dancing under a giant yellowish orange orb that represents the sun. A young boy, that appears lost, enters into the scene. A dancer approaches him and seems to take something from him. It is believed that the dancer is taking the young boy’s soul. The boy reaches to get it back, but is simply too powerless to do so. As if he has given up, the boy then embraces the thieving dancer and enters the middle of a circle surrounded by all of the dancers. He raises his hands to the sky. It is believed that at this point, the boy has given up hope in acquiring his soul, and falls victim to the dark side he has now joined…
